Provably Fair System

Provably Fair is a unique algorithm that enables you to be sure that every case you open and upgrade you get is fair. The code used for it is open-source; you can check it out here. With Provably Fair, we can ensure that everyone, whether they’re a blogger, streamer, admin, or just a regular user, gets a completely random drop generated according to the same set of rules. And every one of you can check this for yourselves.

Provably Fair uses the most trustworthy and fair algorithm possible. Here’s an example of how it works:

  • Every skin in every case has its own probability of being dropped that’s visible to all users. The probability can range from 0.001% to 100%, and is shown as a numerical range (for example, the USP-S | Cortex in the Na’Vi Case has a range of 1–13,000, which means there’s a 13% chance the item will drop).
  • Using our Provably Fair algorithm (with the client seed, server seed, secret salt, public hash, and nonce values), we calculate a random number between 1 and 100,000 when you click Open. This number is called a roll. Then we check which skin in the case corresponds to the roll. That’s the skin you’ll get. Let’s say the roll is 8,237. For the Na’Vi case from the previous example, that means you get the USP-S | Cortex!
  • We let you check how we generated a particular roll when you opened a case or performed an upgrade. Click on any item in your profile, choose Verify roll and follow the instructions.
  • You can also manually check each roll’s fairness by pasting its values into a third-party website. Here’s our open-source Provably Fair algorithm.
